Trump talks a lot about the ‘forgotten man,’ but so far he’s just helping Wall Street
    02/22/17 - HVALF AFL-CIO
Donald Trump has a plan to make Apple's dividends great again. I'm talking, of course, about the administration's plans for corporate tax reform. Now, in theory, allowing companies to bring their foreign profits home at a much, much lower tax rate than they could today—as a prelude to a system where overseas earnings wouldn't be taxed at all—would bring in a flood of cash that could boost investment and jobs. In practice, though, it would probably just bring in a flood of cash that would boost investor payouts and stock prices. That, at least, is what Apple's Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri admitted recently. Repatriating that money, he said, would give them "additional flexibility around our capital return activities."

    02/22/17 - HVALF AFL-CIO
Donald Trump traveled to a Boeing plant in South Carolina on Friday, ostensibly to poke around the company’s new jet and sit in the cockpit. But his real interest was the few thousand workers assembled in the hanger, and the television cameras behind them.
